Family Day 2025

 

Education and advocacy are at the heart of BCDI’s mission of providing integrated, family-oriented care to individuals and families with bleeding, blood clotting and other blood disorders. Because of that commitment, BCDI hosts a Family Day event every year to provide free education to our community!

BCDI Family Day 2025 will take place Saturday, September 20 at the Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute campus at 427 W Northmoor Rd, Peoria, IL 61614.

  • WHAT: BCDI Family Day 2025!
  • WHO: For all BCDI patients and their close family members (everyone attends for FREE).
  • WHERE: BCDI’s campus at 427 W. Northmoor Road, Peoria, IL 61614.
  • WHEN: Event registration begins at 10:45 a.m. Family Day programming with education, games and lunch provided begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.
  • WHY: To provide crucial education to bleeding and clotting disorder patients and their families, and to strengthen the relationships within our community.

Patients of BCDI and their family members can attend Family Day free of charge and are encouraged to sign up! Family Day guests will be treated to specialized education from the expert BCDI staff, including hematologists and members of the comprehensive care team. Family Day 2025 is carnival themed, as fun games and activities will be provided for guests of all ages! Lunch will also be served, and childcare will be provided for children by the BCDI staff.

Not able to attend in person? BCDI is offering a virtual video stream for the education portion of Family Day, which will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on September July 20, 2025. All BCDI patients are welcome to attend this virtual education session. We are requiring you to sign up to receive the link for the video stream! On the registration page, and select the “Virtual- Family Day Education” option.

Moline Educational Dinner

Join BCDI and Bleeding Disorders of the Heartland for a FREE educational dinner, featuring insightful conversation, connection, and community support for those affected by bleeding disorders. We hope you will join us on October 20, 2025 from 6pm – 7:30pm at Fifth Avenue Syndicate in Moline, Illinois! This event is free to attend for individuals living with a bleeding or blood clotting disorder and their family members.

BCDI Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor Kristin Ansteatt, APRN, FNP-BC will lead an educational presentation that will take a close look at the importance of receiving care from a hemophilia treatment center and the role that comprehensive care plays in an individual living with a bleeding disorder. This multi-disciplinary approach addresses the whole patient in a comprehensive care clinic, which have a long-term track record of providing timely diagnosis, treatment plans and optimal outcomes for persons with bleeding disorders.
